Majority of the teams are from rural areas. The tournament will involve 18000 players, 100 umpires and 75 grounds in the state.
This is the second time the HPCA is organising the tournament. Previous year 1017 teams with 14300 players had participated in the tournament which was spread over 60 grounds across the state.
Every day 100 matches will be played and the losing teams will be eliminated. The tournament would be over within a month
The semi-finals and the final will be played at the HPCA stadium at Dharamshala under floodlights. The top players selected during the tournament will be given professional coaching by the HPCA.
Private clubs can participate in the tournament by paying a fee of Rs. 100. However, players above 25 years of age will not be eligible to play in the tournament.
The winning team will be giiven a cash prize of Rs. 3,00,000, runners up will get Rs. 2,00,000 while the teams reaching semi finals will get Rs. 50,000 each.
