Shimla: Ambuja Cements today donated a cheque of Rs. 50 lakh towards laying of synthetic track at Dharamshala stadium. The cheque was received by Himachal Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today in Shimla.
Dhumal thanked the company for sponsoring the construction of the synthetic track at a cost of Rs. 4 crore out of which Rs. 75 lakhs had been received by the executing agency. He said the government was upgrading sports infrastructure in the state.
He said Dharamshala was upcoming as a sports town in the state and with the laying of synthetic track training and sports events would be conveniently organized in the town.
Dinesh Sharma, General Manager, Ambuja Cements said that the company was committed to assist the state government in creation of quality sports infrastructure to polish sports talents. He said the company would be providing a total sum of Rs. 4 crore for laying of synthetic track to create quality sports infrastructure to the budding sports talents in Himachal Pradesh.
