Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh in Himachal to be connected with expressway: CM

Solan: Chief Minister PK Dhumal today announced that Baddi-Barotiwala-Nalagarh industrial area would be connected with expressway with upcoming international airport at Mohali. An Inland Container Depot would soon be dedicated to industrialists and promised 3000 MW more power will be generated in the coming years.

Dhumal was addressing the inaugural ceremony of Pharmaceutical convention, organised by Federation of Pharmaceutical Entrepreneur Manufacturers Association and Confederation of Indian Pharmaceutical at Dharampur.

Chief Minister reiterated the resolve of the state government to provide all facilities to entrepreneurs in the state and solving problems of industrialists had always been on priority of the government. He said he had visited industrial areas several times and listened to their grievances. Every concerned authority had been directed to give top priority to their problems. He appealed to the entrepreneurs to actively involve themselves in local area development and social welfare activities.

Dr. S.M. Jharwal, Chairman, National Pharmaceutical Pricing Authority said there were 10,500 drug manufacturing companies in India. He said the annual turnover of pharma industry in the country was about Rs. 1 lakh crore. Dr. Surender Singh, Drug Controller General of India, underlined the need for affordable drug to common-man. He said that Himachal was the first state which had opened drug licensing offices in industrial areas. He said pharmaceutical terminals were being opened at different locations in India.

Sanjay Guleria, President, Himachal Drug Manufacturers Association welcomed the Chief Minister and counted facilities being made available to the pharmaceutical companies. He said the Association was actively involved in social welfare activities in the area. 

Dr. Rajiv Saijal, MLA, Satpal Kamboj, Ex MLA, Sushil Solanki, Commissioner, Central Excise, BK Gupta, Chairman, Federation of Pharmaceutical Manufacturers, AS Rathore, Deputy Commissioner, Vinod Dhawan, SP, senior officers and prominent people of the area were present on the occasion.
