Shimla: Cold wave sweeping most parts of Himachal Pradesh aggravated today as mercury dropped further in mid and lower hills while higher reaches in tribal areas had another spell of mild snowfall.
The minimum temperature was 3.1 degree in Shimla, Bhuntar in Kullu district had the coldest night with mercury dipping to minus 0.5 degree Celsius while Sundernagar, Mandi and Solan reeled under piercing cold wave conditions with mercury hovering around freezing point at 0.2, 1.5 and 0.8 degrees C.
Una was the coldest in the lower areas with a low of 3.5 degree, Palampur and Dharamsala recorded a low of 4.3 degree and 4 degrees respectively.
Keylong and Kalpa in twin tribal districts of Lahaul and Spiti and Kinnaur recorded minimum temperature at minus 4.3 and minus 2.
The met office predicted a dry conditions in the next 24 hours in the state.
