Shimla (UNI): The Congress, CPI(M) and BSP today demanded resignation of Himachal BJP chief Khimi Ram over alleged casteist remarks made against Kullu district BJP president Ram Singh Thakur following a FIR being registered at Kullu Sadar Police Station under SC and ST Atrocity Act, 1989 against Khimi Ram and local BJP leader Dharamvir Dharmani.
Demanding legal action against Khimi Ram, Himachal Congress chief Kaul Singh Thakur said the incident should be condemned as it reflected the BJP leader’s anti-Dalit thoughts. Thakur said the BJP leader should accept his responsibility on moral grounds and offer his resignation. The Congress leader also observed that incident has deeply hurt feelings of the Dalit Samaj of the state and Khimi Ram should immediately seek apology from the section.
