Shimla: The Congress today accused the Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal of giving a clean chit to BJP MP Virendra Kashyap who was caught on the camera supposedly accepting money. A Congress spokesman said it would approach the Lok Sabha speaker for stern action against the MP.
"It is ridiculous the Chief Minister has given a clean chit to his party MP who was shown accepting lakhs of rupees on camera," Congress spokesman Kuldeep Rathore told reporters.
A video CD on Kashyap along with two audio CDs, featuring the CM and the state vigilance chief, was sent to some newspaper offices here last January. The video CD, based on a sting operation before the Lok Sabha election, is under the scanner of Solan Police.
It showed the MP purportedly accepting money in exchange for getting state government’s approval for setting up an educational institution in Solan.
