Delhi based trust donates Rs. 1.17 crore to nursing school at Tanda medical college

Dharamshala: A Delhi based charitable trust, Himachal Higher Education  Foundation today donated Rs. 1.17 crore to Tanda Medical College for strengthening infrastructure at school of nursing at the college. The trust is headed by Mr. CD Khanna who is from Himachal Pradesh and is based in Delhi.

A MoU to this affect was signed today between Proff Anil Chauhan, Principal Tanda College and Mr. CD Khanna, Chairman of the trust. Speaking at the occassion, Rajiv Bindal, Health Minister said the trust will place the entire amount of Rs. 1.17 crore in a fixed deposit in bank which will be the corpus fund for the nursing school. He said the interest generated from the investment will be spent on purchase of equipment and material for the nursing school. The money will also be used for scholarship and fee concessions to poor meritorious girls students, he added.

JL Gupta, Trustee of Himachal Higher Education Foundation said the foundation has also started defence academy at Una to train youths for army, para-military and police forces recruitment.
