Dr. Vinod Pathak, Director Health Services said the water samples collected have tested positive for V Cholera (serotype Ogawa) and E Coli.
He said out of the 16 samples tested at Department of Microbiology IGMC, five samples have been reported positive for V. Cholera (serotype Ogawa), nine for E Coli and two for commansals. He said the affected water sources are Dinghu Bawari-2, Malayana Bawari-1, IPH Bhatta Kuffer-1, Dinghu Mandir Bawari-1.
Meanwhile four cases of diarrhoea were reported today in Shimla and one was admitted in IGMC Shimla.
The health department teams continued their door to door visits in the affected area as now there is a fear of outbreak of Cholera in the town and distributed ORS packets and chlorine tablets.
