Gaiety Theatre in Shimla now open for visitors

Shimla: The historic Gaiety Theatre heritage complex in Shimla will now be opened for tourists and visitors through conducted tours. This was disclosed by Prem Sharma, Director, Language, Art and Culture here today.

He said that both Indian and foreign tourists and visitors would have access to 122 years old, historical Victorian gothic edifice, symbolizing grandeur of British colonial period.

The entry fee, with and without camera was Rs.10/- and Rs. 25/- respectively for Indian Nationals and similarly Rs. 25/- and Rs. 50/- for foreign visitors with a without camera, said Sharma. An art gallery of Lalit Kala Academy, New Delhi, presently housed in first floor of Gaiety was also open for visitors.
