Shimla: Himachal government today ordered a probe into dumping of 75 blood units at Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Medical College Hospital at Tanda in Kangra district .
Health Minister Dr. Rajiv Bindal said that a four member committee had been constituted led by Principal Secretary, Health Dr. P.C. Dhiman to inquire into the ill management in blood banking system at the hospital which will submit it’s report at the earliest. The Minister said that the Committee would also inspect other blood banks across the State.
He said non availability of refreshment to blood donors in IGMC and Kamla Nehru Hospital would be looked into by Director, Medical Education.
The Minister said a software would be developed and all blood banks across the state which will have first hand knowledge of availability of blood groups in various blood banks along with the expiry date.
