Hamirpur’s new cricket stadium dedicated to Vajpayee

A newly built cricket stadium at Nadaun in Hamirpur district of Himachal Pradesh was inaugurated by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today. The stadium has been named after Vajpayee on the occasion of his birthday.

Speaking at the occasion the chief minister said the former prime  minister  had a soft corner for Himachal Pradesh and gave many development projects to the state.

Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) spent Rs five crore to build the stadium. Anurag Thakur, the HPCA chief said the construction was completed in a record time of eight months. HPCA plans to build 12 cricket stadiums in the state, one each in all the twelve districts.
