Shimla: Hindustan Construction Company has bagged a Rs 431 crore (US$93.35 million) engineering, procurement and construction contract for the 100-MW Sainj Hydroelectric Power Project from Himachal Pradesh Power Corp.
The project on the river Sainj, a tributary of the river Beas, in Kullu district of Himachal Pradesh, is expected to be commissioned in about 48 months, a press statement issued here stated. The project is situated about 52 kilometres from Kullu.
"With this prestigious contract, we have further strengthened our robust order-book with a significant portion coming from the power segment," HCC President and Chief Operating Officer Vinayak Deshpande said.
HCC will be responsible for planning, design and engineering and execution of civil and infrastructure works, besides various other works associated with the project.
