High court issues notice to Himachal govt over labour law violations

Shimla: The Himachal Pradesh High Court today slammed the state government over labor law violations in the state. The Court expressed it’s  serious concern on the issue of non-implementation of labour laws in the state and directed the Labour Commissioner to file an affidavit on the issue particularly with respect to the unorganized sector. The court had taken suo motu cognizance of a news article charging the state government with neglect and turning a blind eye to mass exploitation particularly in the industrial establishments.

The division bench of Chief Justice Kurian Joseph and Justice VK Ahuja issued notice to the state and sought response within six weeks.
