Himachal budget session starts March 2

Shimla: The budget session of Himachal Pradesh assembly will begin on Tuesday, March 2, 2010. The budget for the financial year 2010-11 will be presented by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal who also holds the finance portfolio.

The session will have 26 sittings and will conclude on April 13.

Congress is expected to corner the ruling BJP over the CD controversy. One audio CD purportedly carried the conversation between Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and the vigilance chief over tapping phones of Union Steel Minister Virbhadra Singh and his wife Pratibha Singh.

The BJP government is dragging its feet on the issue,” State Congress president Kaul Singh Thakur told reporters.

Leader of the opposition Vidya Stokes said issues of public interest would be raised in the house. Congress will oppose anti-people policies and deteriorating law and order situation in the state, she added.
