Shimla: Himachal Pradesh cabinet in it’s meeting today approved special Handloom package, enhanced tribal allowance for govt employees, gave nod to feasibility study of two tunnel projects, created a Ropeway Corporation, allotted 30 small hydro projects, fixed charges for services rendered at Lok Mitra Kendras and approved financial sops for class IV employees in the state.
The cabinet meeting was presided over by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal at Shimla. A special Handloom Package worth Rs. 9.11 crore was approved by the cabinet in association with the Union Government and NABARD.
Tribal allowance for employees serving in tribal areas of the state was increased from Rs. 200 to Rs. 300 per month from August 1, 2012.
The cabinet also gave it’s approval in principle for two tunnel projects, between Jogindernagar and Kullu, at an estimated cost of Rs. 367 crore and Bangana-Dhaneta in district Una, at an estimated cost of Rs. 145 crore. A feasibility study of both the projects was approved.
The cabinet also approved to create a seperate agency, Himachal Pradesh Ropeway Corporation for implementation of ropeway projects in the state.
A total of 30 small hydro projects were allotted, out of which 24 were approved for Himachalis, 7 projects for non Himachalis and one was allotted to the state run HIMURJA.
User charges for services availed at Lokmitra Kendra were also approved by the cabinet. User charges will be applicable for filling up of e-form and uploading citizen’s request at the portal, printing and issuance of certificate, license etc. collection of electricity, water & telephone bills, and issuing jamabandi, Shajra Nasab and HRTC bus tickets.
Amendment in Private Universities Act would be presented in the monsoon session as per the cabinet meeting.
The cabinet also sanctioned one additional increment for all Class IV employees upon completion of 20 years of regular service which would cost the state Rs. 16.56 crore annually.
