Himachal CM inaugurates Manali carnival – Promises facelift of the hill town

Chief Minister Prof. Dhumal today inaugurated the five day-long 12th State level winter carnival at Manali. He flagged off the inaugural procession of the winter carnival and also inaugurated the winter games to mark the occasion.

The Chief Minister also launched Rs. 3.51 crore project for beautification of Manali today. The project aims at developing a 300 m long stretch between Ibex Chowk to Nehru Chowk by constructing two-tier elevated planter and place for sculpture along the centre line.

Water fountains, wooden benches, pavements with flowering granite hands, bollards with brass coated chairs would be added to beautify the place.

He appealed to the people to maintain cleanliness and best environmental conditions to maintain best tourist destination status of Manali.

The Chief Minister also launched the 2nd phase of Pulse Polio Campaign in the state in Manali today.
