Himachal exempts multiplexes from entertainment tax for 5 years

Shimla: Himachal Cabinet in its meeting today granted approval for exempting multiplexes from entertainment tax for a period of 5 years, filling up 13 posts of medical faculty at IGMC Shimla and approved issuance of ordinance for revised pay scales to the judicial officers.

The meeting was presided by the Chief Minister PK  Dhumal.

The cabinet decided to exempt multiplexes coming into commercial operation between the period of 26th May, 2007 to 25th May, 2012 from payment of entertainment tax for a period of 5 years as per the provisions of the industrial policy, 2004.

It approved issuance of an ordinance for making amendment in the schedule of H.P.Judicial Officers (Pay and Conditions of Service) Act, 2003 for releasing the revised pay scale to the judicial officers of the state.

The cabinet also approved recruitment of Medical Officer (Dental) on the basis of 50% batchwise and 50% by direct recruitment in the Department of Health and Family Welfare.

A mobile van fitted with all laboratory testing facilities for providing on the spot animal health care facilities to the farmers of district Mandi, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti, Bilaspur and Hamirpur was also sanctioned.

Approval for 13 posts of Professors, Associate Professors and Assistant Professors in different disciplines was also given keeping in view the seats enhanced in MBBS from 65 to 100 and Post Graduate Seats from 39 to 70 the IGMC Shimla from forthcoming academic session.
