Dharamshala: Himachal Pradesh government has signed agreement with three heli taxi operators to provide heli taxi service in the state to boost tourism. This was disclosed by Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal who also holds the tourism portfolio while replying to a question of GS Bali in the state assembly.
Dhumal said the routes have been identified and air fares have been fixed with the three companies to provide interstate heli taxi services. He said the one-way fare between Shimla and Chandigarh has been fixed at Rs. 4,500, whereas it would be Rs. 7,500 between Shimla and Dharamshala and Rs. 6,000 between Shimla and Kullu. Dhumal said the fare on 28 routes ranging from Rs. 2,000 to Rs. 13,000 has been finalised by the state tourism department.
He said Mesco Airlines Limited would operate heli-taxis on 19 routes while the the two other heli-taxi firms are Simm Samm Airways Pvt Ltd and Shiva Heli Services.
