Shimla: Acting tough on encroachments on government forest land in Dharamshala the Himachal High Court today ruled eviction in 1090 cases. The ruling also include 210 cases of encroachment by Tibetians in Dharamshala forest circle.
The court fixed March 31, 2013 as deadline for eviction of all people from the government land. The court ruled that in cases where no appeal has been filed, eviction and possession of land should be done by October 31, 2012. The court also ruled that no civil court will entertain any appeal against encroached land in the cases finalised today.
The court also ordered that in cases where appeals have been filed, the cases may be disposed by October 31, 2012.
The Court ordered that proceedings may be started by September 15 on day to day basis and all cases may be disposed in the mentioned time frame.
The High Court ruling came after a writ petition was filed by Pawan Kumar and the court ordered Conservator Forest, Dharamshala to file a detailed affidavit in this regard.
