Himachal launches AGRISNET portal for farmers

Shimla: Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal today launched the official AGRISNET (Agriculture Resource Information Systems and Networking) portal comprising of two modules, Government to Citizen (G2C) and Government to Government (G2G) services of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry and Fisheries Departments through a common platform.

He said the portal would cater to the problem solutions relating to the avocations being practiced by common man in agriculture, horticulture, animal husbandry and fisheries sectors.

The G2C contains information and data about various services of line departments related to the citizens, while G2G portion contains the services for the departments i.e. inner departmental reports for the departmental users. He said that the functionalities of G2C module contains equipment details, programmes and schemes, guidelines and publications, downloads and forms, market information, frequently asked questions, news and events, announcements, policies, training and services and diseases etc.

He said that the expert advisory module has also been developed wherein farmers could go through the knowledge bank in order to find out the solution to their problems and in case the problem remains unresolved or the farmer was unsatisfied with the information provided through knowledge bank, he may post his query online to the experts in the concerned department and universities through the module and the concerned would resolve the farmer’s query by providing appropriate solution using the AGRINET portal.

Won’t believe much of these prices as these may be few days old. The notification has been mum on the mechanism of mentioning prices on the portal

Agrisnet is not of much use to the farmers, at least its query portion. I had posted a question last month but the same is still unattended. The site shows that it was forwarded to the concerned department. This forwarding too took 2 days. Purely sarkari system! On inquiry for the delay, pat came the reply ‘this is a new portal hence these are initial hiccups’.
