Shimla: After winning the second prize in the national award category for e-Governance last year, the Himachal Pradesh Police computerisation drive will receive yet another award under the same grade by the Computer Society of India (CSI).
Inspector-General (IG) CID OC Thakur, in a press release, said here that state police website ”hppolice.nic.in” under the leadership of Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police (DGP) D S Minhas will be conferred with CSI-Nihilent e-Governacne award 2010 for its outstanding performance in ”Law and Judiciary” under interactive web-portal category.
The award has been instituted by the Computer Society of India (CSI) for outstanding achievement made by the departments of states and Central governments of the country in the field of e-Governance in various categories.
CSI, a national-level NGO, working for excellence in the field of Information Technology had received 150 nominations for various e-Governance drives from all over the country. Among which only 40 entries were shorlisted through field-level evaluation.
The DGP lauded the efforts made by the team consisting of IG CID O C Thakur, IG South Range Rajesh Bahadur and National Informatics Center, Shimla official Dharamesh Kumar among others.
