Himachal school board scam report likely to be tabled in assembly

Dharamsala: Himachal Pradesh School Education Board is likely to place its report on the exam scam in the state Assembly during the coming winter session slated to be held here from December 6 to 9.

As per reports the government committee investigating the scam is contemplating the scraping of private examination centers, which are around 55, in the entire state. The committee has reportedly also suggested HPSEB to get its examination material printed at the government press.

Designated chairman of Himachal Pradesh School Education Board RS Gupta told mediap that the three-member committee entrusted to probe the matter is likely to submit its reports to the government shortly.

In September this year a scam was exposed when hundreds of students of various classes passed the exam without appearing in the same. So far 39 people have been arrested in this connection, including half-a-dozen Board employees. The mastermind of the scam, Ashwini Dogra, and his accomplice Suresh Choudhry, were arrested along with few beneficiaries of the scam along with postal department employees.
