Dharamshala: Indian army will hand over a body of it’s jawan Karam Chand Katoch, hailing from Agojar village near Andretta in Palampur who went missing in the 1962 war in Arunachal sector during the Indo-China
war.
Body of Karam Chand Katoch was recovered by the army after 48 years in Arunachal Pradesh where he was posted with the Dogra regiment.
Jaswant Katoch, nephew of Karam Chand Katoch told media that the body was recovered when the army blasted it’s way through a glacier while building road to the forward areas. The body was identified from the documents in the body.
Karam Chand was unmarried when he died. His family included his parents and an elder brother, of which all have passed away now.
The body of the martyr is expected to reach his native village by 15th July.
