Himachal to start Nursing courses at IGMC Shimla

The government today gave approval for opening of Nursing College in IGMC at Shimla. In a cabinet meeting chaired by the chief minister it was decided to start M.Sc, B.Sc. and Post Basic B.Sc. courses in Nursing.

The cabinet also approved to upgrade the post of Assistant Professor, Community Medicine to that of Associate Professor, Community Medicine in IGMC Shimla.

In another decision the cabinet also approved filling up of 47 posts of Trained Graduate teacher (TGT) Arts, 47 posts of TGT non-medical, 47 posts of O.T. and 47 post of drawing master on regular basis. 47 posts of part time water carrier would also be filled for 47 newly upgraded middle schools so as to make these functional.

Under the Free and Compulsory Education Act-2009 the cabinet also approved setting up of school management committees. These committees will ensure parents and teachers involvement in the management of schools.

The cabinet gave approval to Abhishi Educational Society, Ner Chowk, and K.C. Social Welfare Trust, Nawanshahar to establish educational institutes under affiliation to H.P. technical university instead of setting up of university as requested by it.

The cabinet approved the regularization of contractual junior engineer of panchayat samitis who had completed 8 years of service in respective zila parishads.

The cabinet approved extension of monetary benefit to the winners of distinguished service awards at par with gallantry award winners of the armed forces, who have got similar distinguished award twice. This would carry cash award as well as annual annuity.

    That’s a great news for the residents of  Shimla that the IGMC is going to start the Nursing courses there….It will really help the guys to learn the concept of nursing field…
