Shimla: Sheikhs from Arabia may end up being the high end tourists in Himachal Pradesh soon. The state tourism department is trying to sell Himachal Pradesh as a tourism destination to the Sheikhs in the Gulf.
According to a press release of the Toursim department, entire top brass of the department is in Dubai attending the Arabian Travel Mart which opened on May 4th. Led by Principal Secretary, Tourism, Manisha Nanda, a five-member delegation is participating in this four days Mart at Dubai. Others accompanying her are Managing Director, HPTDC, Subhashish Panda, Director, Tourism Dr. Arun Kumar, Joint Director, Tourism Dr. Manoj Sharma and District Tourism Development Officer, Kamal Chand.
The press release states that Manisha Nanda made an “impassioned appeal” to the local Sheikhs to visit Himachal Pradesh in all seasons to simply have an out of this world experience.
Nanda said that Dharmshala in Himachal Pradesh, received 2nd highest rainfall in the world, has now become a must visit place and is now popular in Dubai after the hosting of IPL cricket matches.
