Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation (HPTDC) has launched a new VOLVO bus service to cater to passengers traveling by Paschim Express and Shatabdi express at Chandigarh and Kalka railway stations.
HPTDC Managing Director Vineet Kumar said the new VOLVO service will cater to Paschim Express passengers and carry them to Kalka and Chandigarh from Shimla daily. Besides, it would also facilitate passengers arriving by Shatabadi Express at Chandigarh and at Kalka.
In a statement, Kumar said the Volvo bus would depart from Victory Tunnel, Shimla at 0700 hours and reach Kalka at 0930 hours and Chandigarh at 1050 hrs.
The VOLVO will leave Chandigarh railway station at 1115 hours for Shimla and reach Kalka station at 1150 hours.
HPTDC will charge a flat fare of Rs 340 per seat from Shimla to Kalka or Shimla to Chandigarh.
The operation of this service would be on a trial basis for a period of one month and, apart from railway passengers, it would also serve routine passengers to these destinations.
