Hamirpur: Addressing a gathering after inaugurating the three day long state level Holi Festival at Sujanpur in Hamirpur district last evening the chief minister Prof. PK Dhumal announced the Sujanpur Holi Festival will be accorded international status like that of Kullu Dussehra and Mandi Shivratri.
Chief Minister also said the Holi Festival Committee of Sujanpur could extend the duration of the cultural bonanza to minimum 4 days.
Speaking at the function he also said that the total amount collected in the Chief Minister Sainik Welfare Fund had gone upto Rs. 11 crore. During peace and normal situation Rs. 3 lakh was given to the family of martyrs, Rs. one lakh is paid to kith and kin of the soldiers, para military forces and Rs. 25,000 was being paid on natural death.
Lashing out at those spreading misinformation campaign about the utilization of National Security Relief Fund, Dhumal said the state government was committed to the welfare and well-being of the ex-servicemen and their dependents.
