Italian arrested for over staying in Himachal

Kullu: Arrested Italian national for staying illegally in the country was today sent to to police custody for a day as per reports reaching here.

SP Kullu Abhishek Dular was quoted in the media saying the travel documents of Galeno Orazi, 65, had expired in June last year and since then he had been staying here illegally.

He was staying in a tented accommodation in the interiors of Kullu near Malana village and was arrested on Tuesday, the SP said.

Orazi was convicted twice by a Kullu court in 1981 – first, for possessing drugs and second, for staying illegally. He also underwent a jail term of 15 days, he added. The police is investigating his role, if any, in drug trafficking.
