Shimla seems to gripped by jaundice outbreak as the authorities collected water samples again for testing in the state capital after seven out of eight blood samples of jaundice patients tested positive for Hepatitis E.
The samples has been sent to the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) in New Delhi.
Hepatitis E virus spreads mainly due to mixing of sewage with the potable water. Water samples were again collected from localities affected by jaundice on Saturday.
So far more than 60 patients mainly from Khalini, Panthaghati, Vikas Nagar and Kasumpti areas of Shimla have been reported to be suffering from the jaundice.
