Shimla: International Kullu Dussehra will be celebrated from 17th to 23rd October this year.
A meeting to finalize arrangements for the festival was held today which was presided by the Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal and other senior officials.
Dhumal said the Kullu Dussehra was a festival of international significance and all fool proof arrangements be made for organizing it in a befitting manner.
He said besides troupes from outside, the local cultural troupes also be given preference. Cultural troupes from Russia, Nepal, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and other states are likely to participate in the festival this year.
Chief Minister directed that proper arrangements be made for maintaining law and order, traffic and proper supply of electricity and water during the festival.
BM Nainta, Deputy Commissioner, Kullu gave details of various activities organized during last year. Prem Sharma, Director, Language, Art and Culture gave details about the activities to be organized during this year festival.
