Manali–Leh highway blocked again following heavy rains in Himachal

Manali: Manali-Leh highway remained closed due to landslides triggered by incessant rains in in Himachal Pradesh.

The highway remained blocked since Wednesday due to incessant rains, officiating commander, 38 BRTF, Lieutenant Colonel H Harsoor said.

Hundreds of tourists vehicles and other goods vehicles are stranded at Rahni Nala, 5 km from Rohtang Pass, due to the block. Many tourists are also struck up at Lahaul valley due to the uncertainty over the opening of the road.

Meanwhile, following flash floods and cloudbursts in Leh, traffic to Leh has been stopped at Pang as per reports forcing hundred of tourists and trucks carrying supplies getting stranded at Pang and Sarchu.
