Nadda appointed BJP Gen Sec; to quit Himachal ministry

Shimla: Himachal Pradesh Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, who has been appointed as BJP General Secretary on Tuesday said he would soon quit ministry to take up the newjp nadda assignment.

"I will resign as minister in Himachal Pradesh to join as BJP national general secretary to honour party’s policy of ‘one man one post’," Nadda told reporters here.

Nadda is Parliamentary Affairs, Forest and Environment minister presently in the Prem Kumar Dhumal ministry.

Nadda has worked with party President Nitin Gadkari in BJP’s youth wing in the early 90s, He said he wishes to concentrate on strengthening party cadre in the country.

Nadda is third time MLA from Bilaspur assembly constituency in HP. He was a minister in the earlier PK Dhumal govt from 1998-2003 and has also served as leader of opposition in the state.

50-year-old Nadda has earlier served as president of All India Bhartiya Janata Yuva Morcha.
