Paragliding banned in Himachal for IPL security

Dharamsala: In a brazen move Himachal Pradesh have banned paragliding in the entire state from April 11 to April 20. Security forces are apparently jittery over ensuring that nothing untoward happens during the two IPL matches to be played at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Stadium on April 16 and 18 in Dharamshala.

Earlier HPCA dropped its plans to have para-gliders hover over the stadium during the inaugural match, now there are reports that authorities have banned paragliding in the entire state.

Para-gliding as an event is a big loss for the enthuastics as they have missed a big chance of displaying their skills in front of the biggest media and television event in the country but in this era of heightened terrorist threat security agencies are not taking any chances.
