The baton would then pass through Kangra, Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Shimla, Solan and Sirmaur districts. Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) will organise a function in its stadium at Dharamshala.
The baton is scheduled to reach Shimla on July 5 where it would be received by chief minister Prem Kumar Dhumal at the historic Ridge ground. Cultural activities have been planned at the historic Gaiety Theatre at Shimla to mark the occasion.
The baton would be handed over to Uttarakhand Olympic Association at Paonta Sahib in Sirmaur by Himachal Pradesh Olympic Association president JP Nadda on July 6 before traversing through 7 out of 12 districts in the state.
The baton will cover a distance of 560 km in the state before entering Uttarakhand.
The baton has travelled nearly 1,70,000 km through nearly 70 Commonwealth countries before arriving in host India for the Games scheduled Oct 3-14 in New Delhi.
