Rail traffic back to normal on Kalka Shimla track

Shimla: Rail traffic on the Kalka-Shimla track was restored after remaining disrupted for more than six hours  on Thursday.

Rail traffic on this route was disrupted when the engine of the Kalka Shimla Mail train derailed in the morning after hitting boulders lying on the railway line. Nobody was injured in the accident.

“The train (251-UP Mail) left Kalka railway station at 6 a.m. and derailed between Koti and Gumma after two hours of its journey,” Shimla Railway Superintendent G.S. Rajput said.

Traffic on the rail line was normalised and the train from Shimla towards Kalka left at its normal time at 2.30 p.m.
