Major weather websites have predicted rains and snow for this weekend in all parts of Himachal. An early snowfall on November 9 in the higher areas of Himachal had raised hopes of a good winter this season. Weather sites have predicted snow and rains beginning Wednesday afternoon and continuing till Saturday.

December being a marriage season, this may prove a problem for residents as marriages are planned till December 12 across the state before the begining of the winter month of Paush as per Hindi calender. Rain and snow will be a welcome relief to the farming community for the state as pruning work is almost over in the state’s apple farmland.

With Himachal reporting very less snowfall in the previous winters, residents are looking forward to a bountiful of snow this season as it will help in reviving the natural springs and water bodies next summers. Also tourism trade in the state will get a boost in trade as season has been pretty low this year for the hoteliers.
