Manali: After remaining closed for two days, Manali Rohtang Highway has been opened for traffic. The road was closed for vehicular traffic following cloudburst in upper Manali area which had resulted in landslides.
Earlier more than 80 vehicles remained stuck at Rani Nallah on Sunday morning as trucks carrying peas and tourists returning from Leh and Keylong for more than 20 hours.
State Transport HRTC also restored its bus services to Udaipur, Keylong, Kaza and Killar via Udaipur today.
Apart from the bad weather in the region Rani Nallah has become a major sore point for the motorist while traveling to Rohtang Pass as landslides on this stretch has resulted in a km long slushy road. BRO is given 4 hours daily in the morning to repair the road as traffic cannot be stopped due to transportation of peas crop from Lahul valley.
