Shimla: The 111 MW Sawra-Kuddu hydro project in Shimla district of Himachal Pradesh would be constructed at a cost of Rs. 1,182 crore and is likely to be completed by 2012.
He said that it was obligatory on the part of power projects to contribute pro-active towards the local developmental needs of the project effected families.
The Chief Minister also dedicated a girls hostel at Lal Bahadur Shastri Government Degree College at Saraswatinagar and laid foundation-stone of sewerage scheme at Saraswatinagar which would benefit a population of 6500 of the area.
Prof. Dhumal said that the government was committed to maintain best hygienic conditions in the rural areas where sewerage schemes were being constructed at different-level. He said that with better hygienic condition the entire state would be a major attraction to tourists and will benefit the local population directly or indirectly.
