Shimla: Student Federation of India (SFI) retained it’s supremacy in the Himachal Pradesh University campus by winning all four seats in the SCA elections for successive 10th year in a row. ABVP despite getting thrashed in the University campus led in colleges through out the state.
SFI candidates Khushi Ram Verma polled 1080 votes for the post of President while Bhupinder Deshta (ABVP) got 642 votes and Uminder Kumar (NSUI) got only 43 votes.
For Vice President post Vipin Mehta (SFI) got 1002 votes, Priyanka Thakur (ABVP) 710 votes and Vimal Kumar (NSUI) got 86 votes.
For General Secretary post Sunita Ranot (SFI) 1014 votes, Rajinder Singh (ABVP) 684 votes and Pankaj Kumar (NSUI) got 99 votes.
For Joint Secretary post Ankush Mandyal (SFI) got 1075 votes, Deepak Kumar (ABVP) 642 votes and Kamlesh Kumar (NSUI) got 78 votes.
SFI also sweeped the posts of departmental representatives where it’s candidates won on 33 seats while ABVP managed to win 11 seats.
Congress backed NSUI got a drubbing in the elections when none of it’s panel candidates could muster three digit votes in the SCA elections.
Else where in Shimla, SFI supported panel won all four seats in RKMV and Govt College Kotshera where as NSUI panel was declared winner in all four seats at Govt. College for Excellence at Sanjouli.
ABVP panels won all seats in colleges in Sunni, Rohru, Nerwa and Kotkhai in Shimla district.
At Rampur, SFI won the president seat while NSUI won the Vice President and Gen Secretary post and ABVP won the post of Joint Secretary.
SFI panel won all four seats in Govt. College Theog.
ABVP led in majority of colleges in Karsog, Nahan, Paonta, Mandi, Una, Kangra and Sundernagar.
