Palampur: Vivekanand Memorial Research Trust (VMRTA) run 200 bed hospital was opened on Monday at Palampur in Himachal Pradesh. The hospital has been constructed in association with Jai Prakash Sewa Sansthan. Swami Subodhanand Regional Head of Chinmay Mission, North India did the opening ceremony of the hospital.
Speaking at the occasion Chief Minsiter Prem Kumar Dhumal said the hospital would provide trauma centre, neuron-surgery, CT Scan and MRI services. He said the state government had extended all possible help for development of the hospital complex and roped in Jai Prakash Sewa Sansthan to develop the complex into a specialized medical centre.
Shanta Kumar earlier welcomed the Chief Minister and thanked him for extending all help to the Trust in realization of the dream project. He said the hospital will be devloped at par with PGI and AIIMS. He also thanked donors who had contributed liberally for development of the complex.
Jai Prakash Gaur, founder, Jai Prakash Sewa Sansthan said he had fulfilled the commitment made with VMRT by starting 200 bedded hospital and assured that further upgradation process would continue. He said that efforts would be made to invite super specialists from Delhi from time to time to provide people specialized services at their door steps.
Shanta Kumar in the year 1992 had formed the Trust and leased out 200 kanal of land near Palampur.
