Shimla: A textile park is being set up in Himachal Pradesh with an outlay of Rs. 107 crore, Industry Minister Kishan Kapoor was quoted in the media.

He said the Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal will lay the foundation stone of the textile park on August 28 which will come up in Amb in Una district.

He said a private company, Himachal Textile Park Ltd, would develop the park in Una district adjoining Punjab.

While Jindal Medicot will manufacture medical textile products like absorbent bleached cotton wool and cotton crepe bandages and cloth, Jindal Speciality Textiles will produce PVC laminated products, tent fabrics, and truck sliders.

‘The Jindal group will commence production by next year,’ the minister added.
