Shimla:
Virbhadra Singh was sworn in as Chief Minister of Himachal Pradesh for a record sixth term on a sunny Christmas morning in Shimla today. The swearing ceremony was organised at the historic Ridge ground in Shimla which started at 10.30 am. Himachal Governor Urmila Singh administered the oath for office and secrecy.

Besides Virbhadra Singh, 9 cabinet ministers were also sworn in. Vidya Stokes, Kaul Singh Thakur, GS Bali, Sujan Singh Pathania, Thakur Singh Bharmouri, Mukesh Agnihotri, Prakash Choudhary, Sudheer Sharma and Dhani Ram Shandil were inducted as cabinet ministers.

Neeraj Bharti (Jwali), Rajesh Dharmani (Ghumarwin) and Vinay Kumar (Sri Renukaji) were later inducted as Chief Parliamentary Secretaries by Virbhadra Singh at the state secretariat.

Noticeably Kullu district has not been given representation in the state cabinet.

A large crowd witnessed the swearing in ceremony on the Ridge ground. Despite a chilly but sunny Christmas morning in Shimla, people arrived in large numbers from far flung districts in the state to witness the swearing ceremony.

Except for GS Bali, Virbhadra Singh cabinet has the right mix of people this time.. Person like Bali should not be included in cabinet after the heroics people of the state have witnessed of this man. Choosing a right person among 10 won from Kangra would not have been so difficult.

Such decisions make a mockery of the people’s verdict.
