During his Late Night Monologue on ABC’s Wednesday Night, Jimmy Kimmel fought in Controversy brews over town hall dueling events Thursdays happen on both his network and NBC.
The host explained: “As you know, there was supposed to be a discussion tomorrow night, but since Trump will not agree to the hypothetical shape they want because he has tested positive for the Coronavirus, he has completely backed off.” “So because there was no debate, Biden agreed to have a town hall session on ABC that night.”
Then came the announcement that Trump would hold a municipal hearing on NBC at exactly the same time. “This fixes the problem,” Kimmel joked. “Now I know what to do, I’m voting for both of them.”
He continued, “Thanks, NBC.” “first the Apprentice And now this. Why isn’t there a new Bill Cosby special while we’re on it? ”
Noting that “there is no good reason to hold these events simultaneously,” Kimmel hinted that “Trump clearly wanted it because he knew he would get better ratings than Joe Biden,” given that getting town hall on NB CNN means it will likely air on all other NBC channels as well, including MSNBC and CNBC.
“Of course, more people will see Trump,” he said. “It doesn’t mean anything. If my choices are to watch a bill of rights documentary or a man gets hit in a nut with a shovel, I’m going to shovel every time!”
Or as another ABC employee Nate Silver Put it on wednesdaySome people seem to be operating under the false assumption that more airtime is better for Trump.
