Lail Yas – a rising rapper in the Bay Area – was shot and killed this weekend in what amounts to a mysterious, yet unexplained murder … TMZ knows.
Sources close to Yassa tell us … that he was actually injured early on Saturday morning – and his body was discovered somewhere in the southern part of East Bay … miles away from where he was last seen.
Our sources tell us that Yas was hanging out with his crew late Friday night at a recording studio in Marin County – a little north of San Francisco – and left alone sometime around 11:30 or midnight, telling his buddies that he’d be back right now.
We were told after no more than an hour and a half, Yase was reported to have been shot somewhere in East Bay – about an hour away by the highway, depending on which part of town you were heading to. over there.
We are told that the people in Yase’s inner circle are dumbfounded – because he had no known enemies and hadn’t done anything they could see leading to something like that. Our sources say Yase may have been playing hard in his music, but in reality … all he was about was rap, his branding (Highway 420 Productions) and his pals, and games. That’s it … he didn’t have beef with anyone anywhere, we were told.
He just posted a picture of himself on Friday, showing Thanksgiving celebrations … with the caption saying, “If I’m stumbling upon my strip, it’s up to UNK😤😈 # HappyThanksGivin🦃” last post on IG – and I’ve since gotten a lot Of praise from fellow artists in the Gulf region and beyond in the comments.
Yase started releasing music at the age of 18, but really took off on the scene with his single “Get It In” in 2015 – which went on to create a remix of that music that garnered more national attention the following year.
He released a series of hit songs that garnered hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube over the years – including songs like “No Diss,” “Demon,” “What You Mean,” “Yeah Yeah,” “Furl” and “Bum B *” ***, “Madness”, “Worken” and many more.
Yase collaborated with artists like Yalla, AB Milli, Cash Kidd, G-Val, That Boy Tyson, Stunna June, and IamSu! And Shoreline Mafia and many other musicians, local and more.
We’ve contacted Alameda County to make sure Yas’s body is in their possession, and if any suspects are caught – so far … No response.
